Tim's friends like to refer to him as "the guy that drinks the weird stuff". He enjoys trying whiskeys from all over the globe and has also branched out into Armagnac, Calvados, and other brandy as well. His whiskey journey started when the family business decided to add whiskey barrel wood to their line of products. After cutting up a dozen freshly dumped bourbon barrels, Tim decided the shop smelled so good that he'd have to try bourbon, and as it turns out, it's pretty good stuff! Since then, it's been a journey of exploring whiskey from as many distilleries as possible. He's also a part of several barrel pick groups: Bourbon Enthusiast, Beastmasters, and Jews and Booze. 

Tim runs a small business called McKenzie Penworks, providing the patent pending DiamondCast® material used by both hobbyists and high-end fountain pen companies like Esterbrook and Franklin Christoph. His wife, Callie, helps run the business and they have two children that enjoy spending time with dad in the shop.
