The Pairing:
You can not pass up the opportunity to pair a cigar with Dalmore Cigar Malt (Highlands). The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon, 10 year old Matysalem sherry butts, and finished in Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. It is sweet caramel, with red fruit and zesty orange citrus notes. It turns even heavy cigar notes into candy.
The sweet maltiness was a great balance with this Whiskey Rebellion. The ABV of 44% is unique and absolutely perfect for a wide variety of cigars. Nice and perfect amount of spice. I really enjoyed this pairing and would do it time and time again.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
